Current Bonus Opportunities
These are due by March 1!
When writing these bonus papers, do not use Wikipedia, Answers.com, YahooAnswers or WikiAnswers. However, you may consult those pages for their “External Links,” which may point you to a good source. Please make a list of the sources you ultimately use. If you plagiarize, I can’t give you any bonus (but you won’t lose any points or be disciplined).
For History:
1. Write a page about the god Janus. What was his role? How was he depicted? How is he still part of our culture?
2. Look up at least ten state mottoes that are in Latin and explain what each motto means – not just its English translation, but the idea behind the phrase.
For Literature:
1. Write a one-page biography of the Roman playwright Plautus.
2. Check up Ovid’s version of the story of Aeneas. In a page or so, compare and contrast it with Virgil’s account.
Since it will be a while before we get back to school from Christmas Break, is it alright with you if we email you the bonus assignments when done? Or would you prefer a hardcopy?
When is he new due date for this?
Let’s say the end of May.
For the first literature bonus, by biography do you mean like a summery of the playwright?
